Moisture measuring Through Sensor & IoT

Slag sand

Slags may find usage as a secondary raw material or cement additive in the building sector if they are not disposed of in a landfill. Moisture measurement sensors are widely used in the concrete industry to determine the moisture content of individual particles. Since the IMKO sensor can precisely detect only 0.3% residual moisture, it is possible to optimise the drying process in the production of dry mortar. This illustration depicts an IMKO sensor that is affixed to a conveyor belt using a slide.

Iron Ore

Coal, quartz sand, iron ore, and other ingredients are combined and sintered. This mixture is melted in a blast furnace as the next phase. Before these goods are blended, the IMKO sensors measure the amount of moisture that remains in them in real time. A conveyor belt (or a belt scale) abstracts the parts from the silo. The merchandise remains at a constant height because of the outlet's height restriction. The iron ore, etc., is evenly pushed by the conveyor belt among the slides where the moisture sensor is installed. This allows for an accurate measurement of the water content.

Lignite ash

The ash from lignite, a waste product of energy generation, returns to the massive pits left behind by surface mining in order to repair the landscape. The ash must be wet only a little bit to ensure that no embers remain. Real-time residual moisture determination is possible with the IMKO sensor. The material is moistened once again if the results are less than the recommended threshold. The sturdy enclosure that encloses the sensor is installed immediately after the conveyor belt in the material flow.

Installing the sensors in a highly sensitive area poses a challenge as it is not feasible to monitor the moisture parameter on-site. Therefore, we need to integrate the moisture output with the industrial grade IoT RAPIOT® using the 4-20ma/ RS485 Modbus protocol. The live moisture parameter can be easily accessed from any internet-based device. You can also download the data from the past 1-2 years in a report format and analyse the graph/trend. Additionally, an SMS alarm is sent to the officer if the moisture level exceeds or falls below the set scale.

Smart Elevator through IoT

Building lift and escalator performance, safety, and user experience can all be enhanced with the use of the Internet of Things (IoT). Real-time monitoring of variables such as safety circuits, load weighing, door cycles, traffic patterns, and waiting times is possible with IoT-enabled lifts and escalators. Technicians can use this data to optimise preventative maintenance plans and identify problems such as slowdowns or breakdowns.
The urban workhorses that carry us across buildings and cities are lifts. Many individuals go between floors in businesses and shopping centres, as well as on their daily journey to work, using lifts. Over time, lifts have changed to meet demand; now, they use stronger technology and carbon fibre ropes to stay in motion. With the advent of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, design has advanced.
Elevators are changing beyond only moving passengers quickly and comfortably up and down buildings thanks to IoT. These days, intelligent lifts gather information, keep an eye on traffic patterns, and even serve as effective marketing instruments.
The purpose of RAPIOT® Elevator IoT solutions is to assist elevator manufacturers and maintenance providers in effectively managing the functioning of their equipment. RAPIOT® Cloud Management Service (RCMS) allows you to easily manage your network, connection, and provisioning by connecting your RAPIOT® device to it.

Virtualization through VMWARE

The technique of virtualization involves the use of software to build an abstraction layer over computer hardware, allowing the separation of a single computer’s hardware into several virtual machines (VMs), each with its own CPU, memory, and storage. Even while each virtual machine (VM) only uses a small percentage of the real underlying computer hardware, each one has its own operating system (OS) and functions similarly to an independent computer.
Consequently, virtualization allows for a higher return on an organization’s hardware investment and a more effective use of physical computer systems.
Virtualization is now a common approach in business IT architecture. Cloud computing economics are also driven by technology. Cloud providers can now give services to users using their own physical computer hardware thanks to virtualization. It allows cloud users to scale those resources economically as their workloads increase and to buy only the computing resources they require when they require them.
Example: If you have any programme installed on a Windows XP machine with outdated Pentium hardware and imagine that at some point the hardware crashed and there was no way to recover it due to outdated hardware and software support. As a result, you must replace all of your hardware and software (old software won’t work with the new OS). However, thanks to VMware Virtualization technology, all you really need is the newest hardware and the ability to run multiple operating systems on a single computer.

  • Benefits Of Virtualization
  • Resource efficiency
  • Easier management
  • Minimal downtime
  • Faster provisioning
